Business Administration Intern

Position

Musicians Playground located in downtown Boston is seeking a business administration & marketing intern to join its management team.

Those that intern at Musicians Playground are given meaningful projects to lead within the scope of communications, digital marketing, and sales. They learn modern-day business practices and experience taking business ideas from conception to implementation and beyond. It's the perfect experience for anyone looking to learn more about how to make their passion a business.

The intern that will make the most of this opportunity is an avid learner who is self-directed in their growth, values an autonomous working environment, seeks to gain experience working for a young, fast-growing company and desires a more personalized internship experience.

Those that intern at Musicians Playground work alongside the rest of the MP team, and are mentored directly by the Founder, Alyssa.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with marketing initiatives; content creation & copywriting for blogs, newsletters, & social media
  • Assist with strategizing & implementing paid & unpaid marketing approaches for business initiatives
  • Assist with organizing & running events
  • Offer in-studio tours to prospective members & support current members
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the management team

Internship Qualifications

Intern must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or be a recent graduate with an interest in entrepreneurship & marketing. Candidates should have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of the basic functionality of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, & YouTube
  • Familiarity with photo & video editing applications such as Canva & iMovie or be able to learn basic functions of these platforms quickly
  • The ability to think creatively, resourcefully, and independently to solve problems
  • A growth mindset
  • Strong organizational skills

Location

33 West Street, Downtown Crossing, Boston.

Schedule

This is a 12 hour weekly commitment. A minimum of 3 shifts per week for 4 hours are required during peak days & hours of the business.

Peak days/hours of the business are as follows:

Mondays - Thursdays | 2PM-9PM
Fridays | 2PM-7PM
Saturdays | 9AM-3PM

Pay

This is an unpaid internship for which college students are required to receive credit. In some cases of exceptional performance, interns are offered part-time employment at the conclusion of their internship.
