Your satisfaction…guaranteed!
We are so convinced that you will love your experience at the Playground that we are willing to provide you with a 100% refund if after your first lesson you are not feeling completely satisfied.

Scheduling, re-scheduling, and cancelling of lessons
Scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling is made easy through our studio’s online scheduling system. You will be given a unique username and password with which you’ll gain 24/7 access to the studio calendar and your lesson schedule. If for any reason you need to reschedule or cancel your lesson, please do so 24 hours or more in advance by calling 6176157663 or emailing If you do not reschedule or cancel within this time frame you may be charged for the lesson/a lesson credit will be forfeited and you will receive no opportunity for a makeup. Makeup lessons are offered according to the availability of the studio and must be made in the same month it is incurred. After this period, it will be null and void.

Group lesson protocol
If you are enrolling for group classes, you are expected to take a minimum of 10 lessons every 12 weeks and payment for 12 weeks is non-refundable. In the event of your scheduled lesson date falling on a major holiday or studio closing you will be given the proper amount of makeup lessons before the end of that term. Should you need to miss a group class, please call 6176157663 or email 24 hours or more in advance and you will have the option to apply your unused credit toward a private lesson (30 minute minimum for kids and 60 minute minimum for adults) OR attend a similar group class on another day and time if there’s one available. If you fail to let us know and do not show up, you will not be granted a makeup lesson.

When feeling ill
If you are ill, please do not come to your lesson! Musicians’ Playground strives to provide a safe, germ-free environment for all of its students, at all times, and allows its instructors to make the final decision as to whether a lesson should take place or not. If you are feeling ill less than 24 hours before your lesson, you reserve the right to cancel with no penalty up to 2 times every 6 months. If you fail to let us know and do not show up, you will not be granted a makeup lesson. If your instructor decides it is unsafe to teach you, he/she may reschedule/cancel your lesson with no penalty at any time.

In the event of an emergency
If something unexpected comes up and prevents you from making your lesson, just give us a call and let us know. We understand these things happen and allow you 1 “emergency lesson” every 6 months for which you need not notify us 24 hours or more in advance and you will still get a makeup lesson! If you fail to let us know and do not show up, you will not be granted a makeup lesson.

During bad weather
During inclement weather, lessons will go on as scheduled unless the City of Boston declares a state of emergency. If lessons need to be cancelled due to bad weather, we will provide times for the lessons to be made up either through the form of a master class, group class, or private lesson.

Membership payments
All clients of Musicians’ Playground are members! You may become a member of Musicians’ Playground at anytime. Upon starting your membership, you will prepay your first month. All subsequent months will be automatically charged to the credit card we have on file for you, on the first of each month. Late payments may result in additional charges as well as suspension of lessons. All past-due accounts will receive a courtesy email or phone call before this occurs.

Membership Credits
When you enroll in a membership at Musicians’ Playground, you are allotted a certain amount of hours of lessons (either group, private, or both) each month. Generally, these hours are expected to be used 30 days within the date they are incurred, however, in the event lessons need to be made up, you may take up to 3 months to utilize your unused credits. After 3 months from the date of purchase, your credits will null and void and are non-refundable.

Terminating a membership
If at anytime you need to terminate your private lesson membership, you are allowed to do so by calling 6176157663 or by emailing 30 days or more in advance of the date you wish to cancel. If you inform us of your need to cancel less than 30 days or more in advance, you will be billed for a subsequent month of lessons but have the option to utilize your credits toward any program within 3 months of the date of purchase. *Please note: Payment for 12 weeks of group classes is nonrefundable. You will be expected to utilize your unused credits for the total of the program within 3 months of your date of purchase.

Freezing a membership
If you are going to be away for an extended period of time or need to discontinue lessons temporarily you also have the option to freeze your account for $25 a month. Freezing your account ensures your monthly payments will remain the same and space with your primary instructor will be reserved.

Efficient arrivals and departures to and from lessons
Your lesson will begin and end promptly according to your scheduled lesson time. If you are running late please call us. If your instructor is running behind schedule and has to cut the lesson time shorter, he/she will add that time to another lesson in the future. When bringing a student younger than 12 years old to his/her lesson, you are expected to accompany him/her all the way to and from the studio. You may choose to stay if it is a private lesson, however if it is a small-group lesson we ask that you leave for the allotted time and come back at the conclusion of the lesson to avoid overcrowding. For a list of local businesses and things to do in the South End of Boston just ask and we will happily provide that for you. There is also a lounge with computers and wifi located on the basement floor, and courtyard in the center of the Piano Factory that we encourage all members to take advantage of.

Benefits for members
As a member, you receive a lot of benefits! These benefits include but are not limited to – open practice hours, portfolio development, flexible programming, use of top of the line equipment and technology, performance opportunities, field trips, specialty classes, and more. While we strive to ensure these benefits are always an option for our members, we reserve the right to eliminate or adjust these offerings at anytime – without impacting any previous contractual agreements.

Open practice
Open practice hours are designated times for members to practice or use studio equipment. Hours and equipment available to use are subject to change depending on a variety of factors. During open practice, teachers are not supposed to provide any guidance. If you receive help during an open practice session, it is at the will of the teacher, and should not to be expected on a regular basis.

Use of high quality photos and videos
Photographic, audio, or video recordings may be taken of you, your student, or your family, prior to, during, or at the completion of any lesson, recital, community service event, or studio affiliated party. These recordings are intended to serve as artifacts that help you measure your progress and achievements over time but may also be used for studio purposes. Musicians’ Playground reserves the right to use these photos, and audio and video recordings, as well as, the name and likeness for educational and promotional purposes, with no monetary compensation.

Interchangeability of Instructors
All Musicians’ Playground Instructors receive intensive training and mentorship to ensure the highest quality and most systemized approaches to teaching. While you will be designated a primary instructor, you may also see another instructor at any time. In the unlikely event your primary instructor cannot teach you and cannot offer a makeup lesson – you may be placed with another instructor without impacting any previous contractual agreements.
